The Ingala Lab
Loreto, Perú
In 2019 we conducted a bat diversity survey in the region around the Área de Conservación Regional Comunal Tamshiyacu Tahuayo (50 km south of Iquitos). A team of 12 bat biologists from 3 countries participated in the expedition, and using our capture records, our Peruvian collaborator was able to propose this region of Peru as a conservation priority area for bats through the conservation network RELCOM. In addition, we collected over 70 tissues and voucher specimens for the AMNH and the Museo Mayor San Marco (MUSM) in Lima.
